Gift notes · Anniversaries
A wedding photograph gives an anniversary gift a clear starting point: the people, clothes and moment you want to remember. A handmade polymer clay portrait can bring those details into a small display keepsake. Before ordering, decide which photograph should guide the piece, what matters most at this scale and how much time you have.
This checklist is for a portrait of two people. If your idea includes a pet, more people or a detailed scene, ask the studio for a separate quote before payment.

1. Start with the anniversary date
Tell the studio your intended gift date and destination before ordering. Arrival usually takes 15–20 business days after payment and details are confirmed, including both production and shipping. Worldwide standard shipping is included. Remote destinations, busy periods and carrier delays may take longer.
The estimate starts after confirmation, rather than when you first make an AI concept. Leave room for questions about the photographs or design, and do not treat the usual arrival window as a guaranteed anniversary or holiday delivery date. If the occasion is close, ask the studio about timing before paying; an accelerated schedule cannot be promised.
2. Choose the moment, then choose the references
Start with one main photograph that shows the composition you want: standing together in your wedding clothes, for example. Then look for supporting images that explain details hidden in that shot.
- Faces: choose a sharp, well-lit view of each person, with facial features easy to see.
- Clothing and pose: include a full-length reference for the dress, suit and the way you want both people positioned.
- Hair and small details: add a close-up or another angle where it helps explain a hairstyle, glasses or an accessory.
- Conflicting photos: say which image to follow for each detail. If one shows a veil and another does not, make that choice explicit.
You do not need every useful detail in one photograph. Additional outfit and pose references can be discussed with the studio. Use photos you have permission to share, and explain how you want separate references combined. If only older or blurry images are available, ask the studio to assess them before ordering. Unclear facial details can affect the result.
For the initial couple AI preview, choose Double and prepare one clear face photo for Person 1 and one for Person 2. Both fields are required. Our photo preparation guide explains the preview’s photo slots and how they differ from supporting references for the handmade piece.
3. Separate the essentials from the extras
For a wedding portrait, your priorities might be the two hairstyles, the outfit colors and the shared pose. List those first. A bouquet, engraved date, elaborate base or recreation of the venue may need a separate quote. A detail visible in a sample photograph is not automatically included in every standard order.
Each standard person figure is approximately 14–15 cm tall, excluding the base. Consider where the finished portrait will sit, and mention any limit on overall height or width. Larger figures and complex arrangements are quoted individually. A simple base is included with a standard single-person figure; ask the studio to confirm the base and overall dimensions for your two-person composition.
Check current portrait prices and options before payment. Adding a pet, another person or a detailed scene changes the request from a standard two-person portrait. Have those details reviewed and quoted rather than assuming they fit the displayed standard price.
4. Give each photograph a job
A short, specific brief helps explain your choices. For example:
Two-person anniversary portrait. Please follow the pose and wedding clothes in photo A, the first person’s hairstyle in photo B and the second person’s glasses in photo C. The outfit colors and hairstyles matter most to us. Please confirm whether the small bouquet and a date on the base are possible, and quote any extra cost before payment. The intended gift date is [date], and the destination is [country or region].
Replace the example details with your own. If you are unsure about an accessory, describe it as a question. This gives the studio a chance to explain what is practical at a small handmade scale before you commit to it.
5. Use the AI concept to explain your direction
You can explore a free AI-generated clay-style concept before ordering. Use it to discuss the broad look, outfit or pose you prefer. It is a design reference, not a photograph of a finished product or a guarantee of an exact handmade match. Proportions, texture, colors and small details can differ in the physical portrait.
For a standard portrait, you review the total and pay online; the studio then receives and reviews the order details before sculpting. Larger or more complex requests are quoted before payment. If something in the concept matters to you, write it in your notes rather than assuming the image alone confirms it.
6. Plan the surprise as carefully as the portrait
If you want the portrait sent to someone else, enter the recipient’s delivery details and note that it is a gift. Ask the studio to confirm the shipping arrangement before production. For a gift box, card or no-price-slip request, ask before payment so the studio can confirm what is available for that order and destination.
Once payment succeeds, the order email includes a private progress link. Keep that link somewhere you can find it. A shaping or pre-shipping photo is not sent automatically: contact the studio with your order number to ask what is available at the current stage. Do not plan the surprise around a guaranteed progress-photo delivery.
Before you order: three practical questions
Can I use separate photographs of the two people?
Additional face, clothing and pose references can be shared when discussing the order. Explain which details belong together and let the studio confirm the composition. See the photo reference FAQs for help choosing images.
Can I change something after paying?
Contact the studio promptly with your order number. Small adjustments may be possible before sculpting begins. Once work has started, changes depend on the production stage and may affect price or timing. Read the delivery and order policy, including the cancellation terms, before ordering.
Can the anniversary portrait also be used on a cake?
This guide describes a handmade display keepsake. Suitability for direct food contact or cake use has not been established. Do not assume a wedding-themed figure is suitable for that purpose.
Ready to put the idea together?
Have your main photograph, supporting references, essential details and intended gift date ready. If the composition needs a quote or the timing is tight, speak with the studio first. Otherwise, start a free couple AI concept to explore the direction for your handmade anniversary portrait.
